Myanmar Coup,Here's What We Know So Far

Updated: 2 days ago

Aung San Suu Kyi

Protesters have been rallying in Myanmar since Sunday in reaction to the military take over which led to the detention of the country's leader Aung San Suu Kyi and several other elected officials last week. The military takeover has been met with global condemnation as claims of the elections being fraudulent by the military have been disregarded and deemed baseless by the masses. The large protests which have attracted international attention have led to an internet shutdown to curb the mobilization of the masses and the reports of what's really taking place on the ground.

The protestsers have vowed to remain on the streets until their will is done and the militray's silence on the matter seems to show that this will be a tough fight between the people versus the military which has continuously criticized Aung San Suu Kyi's rule with the latest attack coming from their disdain of her "unathorized"acquisition of foreign walkie-talkies.
