We are currently seeking a video editor to join our public engagement team. In this role, you will create compelling, high-quality videos focused on the impact of factory farming, farmed animal welfare, plant-based eating, and other related topics that educate our supporters and the general public; align with Mercy For Animals’ vision, mission, and core values; and support the organization’s overall strategic direction.
You will do invaluable work
Edit compelling, informative, high-quality videos that focus on the impact of factory farming, farmed animal welfare, plant-based eating, and other related topics
Work with Mercy For Animals’ social media team on developing video content for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms
Assist Mercy For Animals’ video team with conceptualizing, developing, and producing video content for Mercy For Animals programs and campaigns
Keep up to date on the digital landscape, with intimate knowledge of the latest social media strategies, trends, content, and emerging technology platforms
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
Perform any other duties assigned
Your qualifications will take our public engagement team to the next level:
Two years of relevant work experience editing content for social platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram (preferred)
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other post-production programs
Excellent reel-illustration skills and experience in video production
Ability to work well on a team, take direction, incorporate feedback, and demonstrate initiative
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines
Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
Commitment to continued personal and organizational growth in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice principles
About Your Team Leader
Your team leader, Jenn (she/her), is Mercy For Animals’ video production manager and has been with the video team at Mercy For Animals since 2018. She is passionate about documentary filmmaking and showcasing stories you wouldn’t otherwise see. She values direct and open communication, innovation, and initiative. Outside Mercy For Animals, Jenn enjoys watching movies, hiking, cooking, and participating in local social justice activism.
Compensation and Benefits (nonexempt)
Earn an hourly wage of $21.93 – $24.95 (annual salary of $45,623 – $51,896), depending on qualifications. In addition to a collaborative and innovative work environment, you will be able to take part in our benefits package, including no- or low-cost health, vision, and dental insurance; generous paid time off and sick leave; and 401(k) retirement plan, with a dollar-to-dollar employer match of up to 3 percent of your annual earnings.
