Supervisor, Accounts Payable

As a Supervisor, Accounts Payable, you will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting Operations. You will perform Accounts Payable duties, oversee the Accounts Payable department, and ensure that all AP policies are followed.

Responsibilities


  • Supervise Accounts Payable team and ensure compliance with GAAP principles

  • Ensure team is reviewing AP email inbox, responding to inquiries, and entering bills

  • Review coding of bills and statements to ensure accurate and correct entries

  • Review complex bill upload files prepared by the team

  • Monitor bill approval routing process for team

  • Manage relationships with external vendors; be the point of escalation for vendor issues

  • Review corporate credit card charges and reimbursements for accurate GL and department coding

  • Lead AWS COGS AP process; manage corporate purchasing card program relating to AWS invoice and payment processing

  • Lead the weekly payment run process

  • Lead and review monthly accrual and deferral process

  • Lead and review vendor maintenance to ensure accurate accounting records

  • Manage year end 1099 process

  • Lead AP month-end and year-end close process

  • Work with the Senior Manager to improve AP efficiency and processes

  • Document desktop procedures and validate against day-to-day tasks

  • Perform AP Specialist duties as necessary

Requirements


  • 6+ years accounts payable experience either in a public and/or private corporate environment

  • 2+ years lead or supervisory experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration or a related field

  • Experience manipulating large data sets

  • Expert Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables, CONCATENATE, LEFT/RIGHT/MID, INDEX/MATCH, Text to Columns, etc.)

  • Experience processing AP payments in foreign currency

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (required within 1 year of hire)
