With offices in Philadelphia and San Francisco, including a distributed team across the US, we are excited to welcome an Email Marketing Manager to be a critical part of our Community Learning and Love team. As part of a cross-functional, highly collaborative team, you will lead our efforts to develop, test, and optimize customer lifecycle marketing campaigns, with a heavy emphasis on email marketing, designed to nurture prospective customers, and increase retention and habitual product use across Guru’s customer base.


  • Be the strategic visionary for a standout prospect and customer email marketing program that speaks true to our brand and brings delight into peoples’ inboxes

  • Oversee the development & execution of email campaigns to grow prospect list, nurture leads, convert them to free trials, and encourage habitual product usage;Develop campaign strategy, inclusive of segmentation, triggers, key messages and CTAs per email, personalization, and testing/experimentation approach
    Write campaign briefs and circulate with stakeholders for feedback
    Coordinate copy review process
    Build campaigns in Hubspot and/or Iterable
    Q/A test all emails prior to development for accuracy in rendering, content, and links

  • Continuously optimize the email marketing strategy to improve our email engagement (opens, clicks, and subsequent actions), to grow our database, and maximize the program outcomes. This will include building and executing an ongoing testing regimen.

  • Synthesize and share results following each campaign (i.e. channel-level performance results, feedback from cross-teams and learnings/insights for future campaigns)

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to templates, list segmentation and other aspects of email execution, as required

  • In tandem with our Sr. Customer Lifecycle Marketing Manager, contribute to a forward looking email, tech stack, and measurement strategy.


  • 3+ years of email marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS

  • Direct experience using Iterable, HubSpot, or similar messaging systems

  • Basic ability of CSS and HTML

  • Data-driven, inquisitive, and experienced using multichannel marketing to drive customer delight and habitual product use

  • Strong writing skills – ability to craft compelling marketing copy that sells and inspires action

  • Outcome oriented, always keeping in mind and seeking clarity on goals and key results

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations – ask the right questions and seek out the answers

  • Proactively solicit and welcome constructive feedback, and iterate quickly

  • Organized and efficient you take on complex projects and own them from start to finish

  • Are a great cross-functional teammate

This is a full-time position located in our Philadelphia or San Francisco or Fully Remote. Re-location and/or Visa Sponsorship is not included in our hiring package. Applicants will need to be authorized to work in the US.
