Content & Community Marketing Manager

March 14, 2022

PathFactory is revolutionizing the way that B2B companies interact with their buyers. In much the same way that modern publishing platforms like Netflix can provide a fantastically micro-personalized experience because they are intimately familiar with your past content consumption, like which movies you’ve finished or which shows you stopped watching after just one episode, and they have a ton of content intelligence about every title. That’s what we’re bringing to B2B marketing at PathFactory - hyper-relevant recommendations that encourage your audience to binge-consume your content and create self-directed journeys at scale.

PathFactory helps B2B marketers understand the role of content in the buyer’s journey and discover a new class of data to optimize the path to purchase. PathFactory uses this data and insight to optimize content delivery across every channel, connecting buyers with the most relevant information whenever and wherever they click.

PathFactory is on the hunt for a new Content & Community Marketing Manager to join our small but mighty team. In this role, you’ll make sure PathFactory is front and center anywhere and everywhere people are talking about B2B marketing through guest posting, social media, public relations, awards, communities, and more.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sr. Director of Marketing and Sr. Content Marketing Manager to build brand preference, audience engagement, community growth digital authority, and inbound traffic from our target account list. This may include proactively pitching ideas to press, podcast producers, partners, or other interested parties.

  • Create inspirational and educational content that will compel prospects and customers to binge content and accelerate themselves through the buyer’s journey.

  • Use audience insights, personas, keyword research, messaging themes, campaign plans, competitive information, and content performance analytics to add to the content marketing strategy and editorial calendar.

  • Create a steady stream of integrated primary and spin off assets that can be leveraged across various digital and offline channels and use cases in a variety of formats, including but not limited to blog posts, guides, infographics, webpages, videos, and podcasts in collaboration with other members of the marketing team.

  • Leverage internal and external subject matter experts, influencers, advisors and customers to create engaging, informative, and useful content. This may require educating and training of key PathFactory personnel on the finer points of “dark social” selling and influencer marketing. You will also actively participate in the relevant communities, demonstrating your expertise in all things Content Intelligence and Content Experiences - the two tenets of PathFactory’s Intelligent Content Platform.

  • Identify, repurpose, reuse, and recycle high-performing content as it relates to the persona, use case and stage in the journey.

  • Publish digital content using PathFactory, WordPress, and Sprout Social.

  • Analyze content performance using data from PathFactory, 6sense and Salesforce.

  • Develop and document best practices for using PathFactory as an internal customer of the platform.

  • Ensure governance of all content assets through a content audit and ongoing management to an agreed-upon taxonomy aligned with the mission of PathFactory and the personas that we serve.

You should apply to be PathFactory’s Content & Community Marketing Manager if you:

  • Have at least 2+ years of professional writing experience, including experience working in-house or freelancing for a B2B SaaS business. Bonus if you have experience writing for a marketing audience.

  • Are passionate about telling stories, love to create content, and want to do it every single day, day in and day out.

  • Are energetic, curious, and willing to try new things to see how they turn out.

  • Thrive in a role where you can focus wholly on execution - this is a content creation role, not a content strategy role.

  • Have confidence in your own writing, editing, and project management abilities. Nobody is perfect, but your copy is crisp, clear, and doesn’t require a ton of editing.

  • Can accept and incorporate feedback given by colleagues, executives, and other stakeholders with a variety of communication styles. You’re not precious about your work - you want to produce the best content for the company and the audience. Humility and Level 5 Leadership (from the book “Good To Great” by Jim Collins) are a must.

  • Are a highly motivated self-starter who can multitask, prioritize, and respond to changing work activities on tight deadlines.

  • Can communicate accurate production timelines and consistently meet those deadlines.

  • Can translate complex technical information into engaging, approachable content for a non-technical but professional audience.

  • Get excited about good marketing and want to play a role in educating your fellow marketers about how to be more successful.

  • Want to share best practices and results from your own work with colleagues, prospects, and customers in written content as well as on video.

  • Share examples of your work (ideally before and after editing).

  • Have a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues across the organization.

  • Can adapt and succeed within a fast-paced, high-performance, remote-first culture.

PathFactory is a remote-first company and will consider qualified applicants located anywhere in Canada or the United States.
