Chibok girls abduction : Hundreds still missing

Parents and relatives gather for prayers at the Chibok school, where hundreds of female students were kidnapped by boko haram jihadists seven years ago.

Since Chibok, there have been several more mass kidnappings in Northern Nigeria, resulting in hundreds of school closures in an area where literacy and enrollment are already very low.

On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram militants captured 276 girls aged 12 to 17 from the government girls secondary school in the remote town of Chibok in Borno province.
